Canyoning Slovenia

Certified Canyoning Guides — Slovenia's Complete Canyon Guide & Tours

Why Choose Us for Canyoning in Slovenia

Slovenia is home to over 30 canyons. We guide you to the 6 commercially open canyons — from the beginner-friendly Sušec near Bovec to the technical 55-metre Predelica rappel inside Triglav National Park. Operating since 2016, our team includes an IFMGA-certified mountain guide, certified swift water rescuers, and registered Triglav National Park guides. Our full-time team runs hundreds of trips a year and recertifies their skills every season. We're qualified to guide not only the standard commercial canyons but also Slovenia's most technical descents — the kind other agencies don't run safely. Whether you're new to canyoning or chasing your next big descent, we'll match you with the right canyon for your level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning your canyoning adventure in Slovenia? Below you can find answers to the most common questions.

Is canyoning in Slovenia safe?

Canyoning is a managed-risk adventure sport. With a properly qualified guide, modern equipment and good weather conditions, it’s safe for first-timers and families. Our guides are IFMGA-certified, swift water rescue certified, and registered Triglav National Park guides. We monitor water levels daily and never run a canyon in unsafe conditions.

What's the minimum age for canyoning in Slovenia?

The minimum age is generally 8 years old for our beginner canyons (Sušec, Jerečica, Grmečica). Technical canyons like Fratarica and Predelica have a minimum age of 14, and require participants to be confident swimmers and physically fit. Children under 12 must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the trip.

Do I need experience to go canyoning?

No experience is needed for our beginner-friendly canyons. We provide all equipment, demonstrate every technique, and guide you through every jump, slide and rappel. For technical canyons (Fratarica, Predelica long version), some prior canyoning or rope-handling experience is recommended.

When is the best time to go canyoning in Slovenia?

The Slovenian canyoning season runs from late May to early October. June, July and August offer the warmest water and the most consistent weather. May and September are quieter and slightly colder but still excellent. We monitor water levels daily — heavy rainfall can temporarily close a canyon, so we may suggest an alternative on the day.

What should I bring on a canyoning trip?

We provide all the technical equipment: wetsuit, helmet, harness, canyoning boots, and ropes. You should bring a swimsuit (worn under the wetsuit), a small towel, dry clothes for after, water, sun cream, and a snack. A waterproof camera or phone case is optional but worth bringing for the photos.

How much does canyoning in Slovenia cost?

Canyoning tour prices in Slovenia range from €65 for a half-day beginner trip (Sušec) to €240 for a full-day technical canyon (Predelica long version). Group sizes, season, and chosen canyon affect the price. All our tours include equipment, professional guiding, and transport from the meeting point.
