Fratarica Canyon
Perfect for all levels • Safe & fun • Stunning waterfalls
Location and Access
Fratarica Canyon is located within Triglav National Park, near Predil Pass, approximately 13 minutes from Bovec in the Soča Valley region. It is known for its stunning waterfalls, deep pools, and technical rappels, making it one of the most exciting canyoning adventures in Slovenia.
The easiest way to access the canyon is by driving through Predil Pass from Italy, which offers breathtaking views. Upon reaching the bridge, you’ll find a large parking area on the left-hand side (if coming from Italy) or the right-hand side (if arriving from Bovec).
From the parking lot, you have a 1.5-hour ascent to reach the canyon entry point. The hike follows a gravel path that leads to the Loška Stena rock face, where the canyon begins. Along the way, you will cross the river before reaching a basketball hoop, which marks the start of the smaller trail leading into the canyon.
